Did you know that April is Stress Awareness Month? Like stress, it’s nothing new – this event that has been held every April since 1992. Of course stress is something that affects us all year round but by focusing on it and holding events like this, we can help to raise awareness of the causes and cures for the modern stress epidemic.

Research has shown that stress, along with anxiety and depression, currently account for 51% of all work-related illness in the UK, so it is essential that people know how to manage stress at work. No matter their role, business size or sector, everyone can experience stress, and employers have a legal duty to protect their employees from it.

Stress and conflict in the workplace hurt everybody – not just those involved. Time off sick, decreased productivity and efficiency, higher staff turnover and an unpleasant working environment can really hit your business where it hurts.
