Want to know more about the people behind Develerate? Here’s the first in our series of interviews, introducing you to some of the brilliant, interesting and super-experienced members of our team.
Say hello to Anita Al-Zamily, our Business Development Manager.
Q: How long have you been working with Lucy at Develerate?
A: Almost 2 months but I have worked alongside Lucy and known her as a dear friend since 2008
Q: What made you decide to take this role?
A: The opportunity to work with Lucy again! To help Develerate build a client base knowing that our values of engagement, support and delivery are quality driven. A flexible work-life balance was also an important factor so now I get the best of both worlds!
Q: What does your job involve?
A: Engaging with new clients to share the fantastic courses that Develerate have to offer. Meeting and talking to people is the part I do best and I love to spend time with individuals and organisations, helping and supporting them to plan opportunities to develop their workforce. The ongoing support I offer includes linking the employers with excellent quality apprenticeship delivery partners if that is a route they wish to take, ensuring quality of provision and taking a proactive approach to any potential challenges. I also enjoy presenting to large audiences, encouraging people to discover for themselves what they would like to do and whom they may aspire to become. To be fair I will happily take on anything that is needed to support Lucy and the team!
Q: What experience and skills do you bring to your role?
A: My friends describe me as an engaging, bubbly and warm person and I have many years of experience in training and developing individuals and teams. I get great pleasure in helping people to achieve their goals and realise their true potential. Over the years I have completed many qualifications including NLP Practitioner, which really helps with my role.
Q: What’s your favourite part of the job?
A: Engaging with clients and organisations to support them in assessing their organisations/individual needs and wants around training and development. Meeting people in lovely surroundings.
Q: What has surprised you most about the job?
A: How much I have missed face to face interactions and especially networking, since the Covid pandemic.
Q: Are there any challenging aspects to your role? How did you overcome them?
A: Not as yet! In the past, I have dealt with challenges by remaining positive and confident that there will be a productive outcome or solution. During challenging times, it is essential to be able to rely on the support of my manager and team members. I would not hesitate to share my concerns and thoughts with Lucy and to ask for help from her and the team.
Q: What motivates you to come to work?
A: I believe in what I am delivering – our provision and services. I trust that what we have to offer is a quality provision and as a team, we will ensure our clients have an excellent experience. This makes light work of approaching new clients. Plus the flexibility of managing my own time around personal commitments, the ability to self-manage and know that I am appreciated and valued at all times is also a huge motivator.
Q: What are some of your highlights of the job so far?
A: Gaining CMI accreditation! Being back in an industry that I am passionate about and seeing people achieve their desired outcomes.
Q: What would you say to anyone thinking of signing up for our courses, coaching or training?
A: Come and achieve your qualification with Develerate. We will guide you, support you and motivate you all the way through. We know what it’s like to juggle life, work and adding a qualification into the mix and we will make it as enjoyable as possible for you. We will be there to support you from start to finish. We listen and respond quickly to any questions, queries and issues you may have.
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
A: I live by the sea, so enjoy seafront walks with my dog Bluebell. I enjoy spending time with my sons, grandchildren, family and friends. Leisure time includes eating out, cinema and theatre. I have a gym membership that gets used occasionally, although I am more motivated to use it now the weather is warming up!
